How much is this going to cost?
We are not the lowest cost alternative. Don't get me wrong, we're not looking to retire off of your next computer problem; we're looking to develop a long term relationship with you because it makes sense for you. But it's a real world, and If we can't survive, we won't be there the next time your computer breaks down.  
 
Diagnostic charge is $50 for desktops and $100 for laptops (in-shop only).
  • Diagnostic charge is due when unit is dropped off
  • Diagnostic charge will be waived when repairs are performed.  
  • This charge only applies if you choose NOT to have it repaired. 
  • This is not an additional charge - all deposits will be credited toward your final balance. 
  • Diagnostic-only charges are not applicable for on-site service calls.
 
Minimum labor charge is $100 (1st hour of service).  Each additional 1/2 hour of service is $25. 
Discounts apply with an existing Annual Maintenance Agreement* or an Ultimate Service Contract**.
 
Maximum labor charge is $300 on any one computer (even if it requires a total rebuild) - call for details***.

Business Services:
Business Service calls are billed at $120 per hour (billed in 1/4-hour increments, 1 hour minimum). 
 
Emergency, Weekend and Holiday service calls may be subject to "time & a half" or "double-time" rates.  Please call for details.  We may also be able to connect remotely (via Internet) to solve your problem. 
No Surprises:  You will be informed IN ADVANCE to which rate you are subject.


What to watch out for

 
The unemployed or "part-time" guy working guy working out of his mom's basement may offer you really cheap service, but why risk it when you can have seasoned professionals that will still be around the NEXT time you have a question or problem. We get calls every month asking "Do you know xxxxx?  He took my computer to fix and now his phone is disconnected." 
 
You'll see a lot of "if we can't fix it, it's free" promises.  Guess what; it is ALWAYS fixable.  You just may not want to replace every single component one at a time while they figure out what's wrong.  It is never going to be free.  At least we're straight with you and tell you in advance what it's going to cost to find out.  We even tell you if it's not worth fixing.
 
Everyone has heard of the "Geek Squad", but why pay exorbitant rates from a menu of "a la cart" services?  We don't charge for each individual thing we do, we charge a flat hourly rate and efficiently take care of what needs attention.  Working on your computer is not a series of finite events; we can typically finish hundreds of dollars of their services in our first hour onsite - and you only pay for the hour.  Besides, we're not spending the time trying to sell you a new computer or television.  We charge a competitive rate that is typically less than HALF than what the "Nerd Herd" charges for similar services.
 
Additionally, we don't just fix the problem -- we show you how to avoid having the same problem again, optimize your system, and inform you about other potential vulnerabilities your system may have. We can even manage all of your maintenance, data backup, and preventative measures for you.
 
We provide genuine value in what we do, and we strive to provide a base of technology reliability and responsiveness that results in a bigger bottom line for you. Our bottom line is based on the knowledge that if we cost you more than we save you, you won't continue to be a customer.

Drop-off and ship-in service is available, but the rate structure is the same.
Many problems can be solved within the first hour.  If not, you'll at least have a diagnosis and a list of options.

Please do not expect us to magically diagnose or repair your computer via your description on the telephone or via email.  (Yes, this happens a lot.)

 

Sometimes, your situation (computer problem) is one that is very common, and we may be able to venture a guess at the mostly likely cause of your problem and the most likely effective solution during our initial conversation. 

 

In order to give you a correct diagnosis and determine a course of action, ANY competent technician will insist on personal examination of the "patient".

Note: About Diagnostic Fees... 

Yes, you will have to pay an advance fee for diagnosis.  But here's what you need to know:  If your computer is not repairable or worth repairing (yes, we will actually tell you), then we will credit the diagnosis fee towards any subsequent work that we do towards replacing or repairing that computer.  In other words, just because it cost you $50 or $100 to find out that it's really "dead", your money won't be wasted:  We consider repairs, building a replacement, or setting up a new system purchased elsewhere as part of the same initial transaction (and our MAXimum Labor Charge for one computer is $300 -- INCLUDING the diag fee). 

 

Bottom line: Relax, we're on your side.  We're more interested in happy referrals and a long-term relationship than we are in taking your money once.
